School dinners

School dinners are cooked in our own kitchen. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are automatically entitled to a free school meal through the Universal Infant Free School Meal grant.

If your family receive certain benefits such as Income Support you may qualify for free school meals, in which case you should complete the on-line application here

For all other children the price of a school meal is £2.25 per day.

As an alternative, you may wish to provide a packed lunch for your child, but please ensure the drink is in a leak-proof container. No glass bottles or cans please. In accordance with our healthy eating policy please no sweets, fizzy drinks, squash or chocolate.

If you would like to order a school meal for your child (free or paid) you will need to log into ParentPay and choose the meals for the week ahead (or even longer if you prefer).  Parents/carers will be asked to select a main meal and a dessert from the menu.  This menu will display all allergen and dietary information.   Orders must be in by midnight Saturday for the following week.  Please contact the school office if you have not received your ParentPay welcome letter

If your child has an allergy or intolerance, it is the parents responsibilty to let school staff know.  If you want your child to have school dinners you will need to complete a special diet form and provide a doctors letter.  The kitchen will then prepare a special diet for your child.  More information on Innovate's special diet procedure can be found here

From 12th October we are delighted that we will be able to offer hot food to all children, including a daily halal and vegetarian choice.  Please click here for full details

If your child is going home for lunch, please inform the school by means of a note to the class teacher, or contact the school office directly.

Visit the Children's Food Trust for lots of good information and facts about school lunches.

  • Packets of nuts
  • Peanut butter or chocolate spread sandwiches
  • Fruit and cereal bars that contain nuts
  • Chocolate bars or sweets that contain nuts
  • Cakes containing nuts including marzipan

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
